With these guys, if you like having a functioning nervous system, hands off is best. I’d rather get bit by these than some of the flesh rotting vipers though.

NO! Petting not …
NO! Petting not approved… unlike the centipede, millipede or whatever that thing was that let me pet him…. these cobras are 100% nasty and will bite at 1st opp. I never gave them the opp. Some guys get lax with the deadly snakes and hold them like kittens… and sometimes get bit. Did you ever see what happens with a bite from a deadly snake? Hhoooo wweeee. Not something I ever want to go through!
