This is just my conjecture, but I believe animals with lesser brain power are much more in-tune with nature. This is an animal’s 7th sense of sorts. Whereas humans have the ability to abstract and analyze, and can be considered our so called ‘7th sense’. The mammalian 7th sense is lost to humans because it is buried underneath the billions of calculations and syntheses that our brains are committed to at any one moment.
