7 days holiday in Thailand?
March 9th, 2010 | by admin |Helo. My friend and I are Singaporean. We are planning to travel to Thailand for 7 days in middle of January. We will be departing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Can someone please tell me which part of Thailand should we visit first and where to stay (budget accommodation) and also what should we do in Thailand. We want to make the most and enjoy the holiday wisely. Maybe someone can provide us with the travel itinerary together with budget accommodation as well. We are really appreciate it. Thanks very much.

Hi Sweety, 7 days holiday in Thailand is not really long enough to see very much as travel between places can take up a lot of time, unless you are flying everywhere.
My advice would be to spend your time around the Hua Hin area.
If you are coming from KL by train Hua Hin has a station.
Hua Hin has plenty of everything and the source below offers plenty of advice on traveling Thailand cheap.
Enjoy your trip.

You are both welcome to Thailand.
There are a lot of interesting places in Thailand due to its rich history, unspoiled and beautiful nature and vivid nightlife which are exactly what tourists need.
If you are a beach lover, following places will be worth visiting :
1) Phuket, the paradise island of Thailand
It is one of the most beautiful island with its magnificent scene. It is indeed the mountainous island with crystal clear blue sky and more than a dozen glorious white sand beaches.
Phuket will captivate you from the moment you arrive. Whatever your pleasure, Phuket is yours to enjoy.
Come and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of Phuket!
2) Koh Samui, a nice holiday destination
It is a charming island with great beaches; i.e. the snow-white sand beaches shaded by towering palms which are very beautiful. The water is incredibly clear, so calm and good for swimming almost the whole year.
You will certainly enjoy and love the natural beauties at this hilly island.
3) Krabi, your best travel destination
It is one of the most attractive travel destination due to its white sandy beaches, fascinating coral reefs, forest with cave and waterfall, etc.
It is an invitation to relax and enjoy life as you never have relaxed and enjoyed before.
If you are a mountain lover, I would recommend:
Chiang Mai, Thailand Dream Destination
It is the largest and most culturally significant city in the north of Thailand.
There are a lot of ancient temples that all make Chiang Mai the perfect holiday choice; i.e. Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, Wat Phra Singh, etc.
There are some interesting and famous national parks in Chiang Mai; i.e. Doi Inthanon, Doi Suthep, Dokmai Garden, Elephant Natural Park, Hill-tribe tourism and trekking, etc.
Chiang Mai has a large and famous nightly bazaar for arts and handicrafts and counterfeit products of all description.
We can say that Chiang Mai is the place where is so much to see and so many memories to bring back with you.
Another one place that you must not miss from your visiting list is Bangkok, the Thailand’s capital. The city of Bangkok offers you unlimited fun, enjoyment, pleasure, adventure, and excitement. Bangkok is one of the most coveted vacation destinations of the world. Bangkok is the tourist destination known for its huge wealth of cultural sites.
Have a nice time in Thailand.

What kind of trip would you like … Seaside or Mountain? BTW for Singaporean, I think you don’t need to go city places because it surely more civilization.
I would suggest you go Chiang Mai if you wanna have romance trip with comfortable cool air on Jan. There are a lot of interesting temples and ancient places. Also got many nice and cozy restaurant like "Good View Restaurant" or "Kalear" where my wife really like it.
If you wanna enjoy beach trip… well, Samui would be my recommendation. It is nice and not so much people. but 7 days only in Samui island could be bored… So, how about Krabi? or Phuket? got more a lot of attractions furthermore nice beaches.
About budget I cannot help because I don’t know how is your style. BTW I think this site could help you calculate your budget for accommodation. http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Phuket%20Map/All%20Phuket%20Hotel%20Location%20Maps.html that is for Phuket and this for Chiang Mai http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Chiang%20Mai%20Map/Chiang%20Mai%20Hotel%20Location%20Maps.html or if you wanna see other city in Thailand http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Thailand%20Hotel%20Location%20Map.html
Hope this will help you plan your trip.
Have a nice day
