I have been to Koh Sumui and Krabi. Both are pretty with nice beaches, restaurants etc. and in between the Pattaya/Phuket action and Phi Phi tranquility. Good place to relax with a date/spouse.

Koh Mak is supposed to be nice and quiet. I haven’t been there, so can’t give first hand reports, but have talked with people who have and really liked it.

On Koh Phang Ngan – even though you’ve already been there – there’s a nice quiet beach at Tong Nai Pan Noi. You can see it in the north east on this map:

    Hope this helps.

Have you ever been around the gulf of Thailand? There are so many beautiful and quite beaches and islands all along the coast. For example Koh Samed (or Samet), Koh Chang, Koh Mun-nork, Koh Lao ya. These are my favorite islands. Pretty quite and not many tourist. Mostly known by Thai people. Hope this helps.
