you wanna go to a beach in Thailand? Right now? Have you watched the news lately? Chinas doing some really bad stuff there but no one knows for sure how far its gone cause theres been a media blackout there. No reporters are allowed in and even Chinese reports aren’t allowed in so I dont really think any of the beaches are open reght now and if you get there beware it may be a one way trip. did you really not hear or just being funny. I gotta know if you got me or not.

Beaches along Thailand’s west coast – from Ranong to Krabi – were affected by the Boxing Day tsunami, some more than others.

In Phuket, Krabi and Ranong, recovery took less than a year. Worst hit were the beaches of Phang Nga, but by high season 2006, the beach resorts on the main tourist stretch (known as Khao Lak) were up and running.

So, by now, tourists are definitely back. But the rainy season is about to start, so if you go there over the next few months, you might not notice that.

Anyway, if you don’t mind rainy season weather, I recommend that you try the beaches and/or islands in the far south of Thailand, i.e., in the provinces of Krabi, Trang or Satun.

All the tourist locations have recovered from the 2004 Tsunami and the tourist are back. The only thing that is a problem and has changed somewhat is the environment.
