Which is better vacation spot in Indonesia: Jakarta or Bali?

I’m interested in seeing south east Asia. I was told that Indonesia is best bet for 7 day vacation (they say better than Thailand, Philppines).

So if I decide to go the Indo way! Which is better Jakarta or beach resort region like Bali. I shud mention that I prefer city life, more than beach towns!! Yet is Jakarta is not worthwhile at all, please let me know!!

We were looking at Hawaii (I’m from there so we would know where to go), or some place in Asia. We are currently living in Japan so the places here would be a bit closer than Hawaii (plus my mom is still there so a HUGE reason NOT to visit). It’s just my husband and I so I want it to be romantic not kid friendly. We wanted some place where there are nice hotels and spas and of course beaches but that is not expensive. We’ve heard Thailand is good but what about Guam or Malaysia, or any other place for that matter?

I have been to Thailand and would like to try a new country. I am worried about the rainy season that some countries are said to have at that time. I would really like an excellent hotel and a beach with some good entertainment/shopping. Please help me! There are just too many choices out there!!! My main interests at this point are Philippines/Malaysia/Indonesia and Cambodia. I will have about ten days for this vacation. Thanks for your help!
As I have been to Bangkok, I don’t want to go there again. Also, there is no beach. I will also be flying out of Seoul, Korea if that will make a difference.

Where is a good beach for a month long vacation near japan?
I will be in Japan for 11-12 months this coming year for school, and there’s a 2 month break between the 1st and 2nd semester. one option is to return home, but i don’t want to do that; i’d much rather travel more and see a new place or two

so, my question: where is a good place, either in Japan or nearby, where i could stay for a month or that trip for relatively little money? i know, for example, you can get a hotel room in thailand (in, say, Phuket) for under $30 a day, which is ok with me!…any other suggestions? (keeping in mind that $150 a day hotel is almost $5,000 for a month, and $300 a hotel a day is $10,000…sooo yea definitely looking on the cheaper side because of the length of the stay)

hey there, i live in manila, philiipines and i’m planning to go on a vacation to either bangkok, thailand or singapore, singapore….

where should i go and which place is more nicer? i heard unviersal studios is gonna open in singapore in the first quarter of 2010 but the date is uncertain. they say bangkok is just manila, but it’s great to shop there.

I’m planning to go on vacation with friends in January, but we are having trouble choosing a place to go. We all want somewhere warm, but there has to be something to do other than hanging out at the resort and going to the beach. My friends don’t want to fly really far, so Thailand (which I thought was perfect) isn’t really an option. We’d also like it if 3 of us could go there for about $7000. Tanks for the suggestions!
