Thailand is one place where many people would love to visit. The warm climate and the beautiful natural resources, such as the mountain geography in the north and the coastal beaches in the east and the south make it a very attractive location. We are going to look closer at the eastern region where the city of Pattaya is located. You may already have knowledge or you have been there been before but it is common knowledge that Thailand is a popular tourist location and has millions of visitors every year. This is due to the beautiful beaches and the vibrant night life which give people endless enjoyable activities.
For first time visitors to Thailand or Pattaya there are plenty of information resources that provide information about Pattaya. There are travel guides and there are websites that provide comprehensive information, such as the website of Tourism Authority of Thailand, (TAT), or you may want to visit lonelyplanet. com which can also be used as an information reference.
Even though Pattaya gets its reputation from its beach and night life, there are many other tourist attractions that tourists can enjoy. For example, there is a fish aquarium that has recently opened and this aquarium can boast that it is the largest in Southeast Asia. As well as these tourist attractions there are activities such as rock climbing, hiking or even just relaxing on the beach.
The hotel accommodation in Pattaya can also offer excellent services. You can find a wide range of hotels available which cater for all budgets. There are the top luxury hotels which can provide a very private environment and services to ensure that you will not be disturbed. The massage and the beauty services in Pattaya have a very good reputation, particularly the traditional Thai massage and the facial therapy massage in the typical Thai style, which you will experience with the use of traditional Thai herbs that claim to cure various diseases through an elaborate massage method.
Pattaya is divided into three areas: north Pattaya, central Pattaya and south Pattaya. Each area has its own unique characteristics, such as the beautiful beaches and other travel attractions. North Pattaya is the closest to other attractions which are nearby, such as the Sila Village where the local mortar is made. Central Pattaya offers beautiful beaches and typical Thai city life
The people as well as the environment in Pattaya are also very pleasant. Even though there is more urban areas than suburban area, there is still a very good environment and very little pollution. People are also very friendly and always willing to help tourists.
Even though there are travel guides for Pattaya on the internet, some in Thai and some in English not all of them are reliable. It is wise to compare the various sites and ensure that they are up to date.

Thailand is the place where many people would love to go to. Due to its warm climate and beautiful natural resource, such as mountaineer geography in the north, and coastal beach in the east and the south. We are going to look at the eastern region, which Pattaya city is located. You may have heard a bit or have been there before if you had a chance to visit Thailand. It is the place where a lot of tourist would like to visit and it has millions of visitors each year.

For those of you who want to be in the know, here is a brief overview of the basic current travel trend landscape. Well, I didn’t imagine you would be much into stodgy details, data, and marketplace earnings. Don’t you really just want to understand what innovative things people are engaging in related to travel? I figured so. Well, the travel locomotive ain’t slowing; on the contrary, although the economic climate has slumped the travel sector has barely skipped a beat. Go figure. Anyway, consider these little bits of info I ran across. Let them provide you with the concept for your next vast dream odyssey to go where few have ventured before! To discover brave, new worlds, to venture to galaxies light years away, to quest for the impossible. . . Sorry, I got a little overly enthusiastic for a moment.
Vintage Train Journeys
People are gravitating once again to the coziness of long train treks through spectacular landscapes. The Rhinegold Express and the Mahajaras Express are a pair of of the most preferred trains. The streamlined classics consist of custom dining cars, glass-domed observation cars, and even slumbering quarters as they wind their way through both exotic towns and cosmopolitan locations. Though not a bed and board train, the U. S. a short time ago reserved $8 billion toward a high speed train in Florida.
River Cruising
River cruising is increasing in level of popularity as more people learn of its availability. Someone can board a more up-to-date boat and cruise the Rhine or the Volga. Or one can go tropical and float down the Mekong River to where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar connect. Quite a few favor river cruising to oceanic.
In demand Destinations
Popular current locations include the Estancia Vik, Playa Vic, and Arbol Casaloft in Uruguay. Hotel Le Cordiere or StarHotel’s Savoia Excelsior Palace within the north Italian port urban center, Trieste, are each splendid. The urban center of Hangzhou, south west of Shanghai, is an age-old city offering calm pagodas and Buddhist temples. The spot is pulling in quite a few enthusiastic site visitors. The Banyan Tree not long ago opened up seventy two waterside sites there. Quite a few are also picking more serene waterfront places to stay and B & Bs, steering clear of the crazies or “party hearty” gang.
Seeking the Remarkable or the Bizarre
In lieu of super-cheap trinkets or commercialized rubbish, a lot more consumers are obtaining the unusual, the romantic, the expressive, or items the nationals appreciate and make use of. Conceivably this awareness has been sparked to a certain extent because of the increasing popularity of “Online Trunk Shows. ” These kinds of exhibits advertise unusual or unique items that may motivate wanderlust in audiences.
Social Network Vacation goers
Travel web pages are increasing. Consumers are racing to the world wide web to make travel reservations or get tips from vacation goers of message boards and blogs. They’ll even obtain guidance to destinations once they arrive at locations in another country. Speaking of finding out stuff, possibly, despite TV/movies, reading is emerging back into style. Book shows and festivals grown to be ever more popular. Two enormous ones in widely disparate locations are in California this year and in South Asia.
SkyNannies
Gulf Air commercial airline at this time features on board baby sitting. So if you get tired of engaging the kids for seven hours, merely hire a skynanny to undertake it for you.
Larger Showers/Smaller tubs
Quite a few inns have decided that a number of clients don’t take baths in their sometimes-cramped tubs. So they’re starting to generate luxurious, roomy dual showers and dispensing with the whole tub concept.
Subterranean Diner Clubs
More than before, you’ll find private dinner clubs around the world where members are able to take pleasure in dishes via the very prime culinary experts. Yet another useful tidbit: more youthful French cooks have found innovative independence in culinary self-expression that may revamp aspects of French cuisine. Give it a look.
Electronic Travel
Crytpo-Historical gaming systems such as Assassin’s Creed are amazingly lifelike. The designers spent millions reproducing particularly thorough and realistic simulations of Florence and Venice, Italy in the 15th Century. People who have played out the video game and afterward visited the locations are captured by surprise with the commonalities between the locations and the game background objects and panoramas. So what’s keeping you back from experiencing one of the premium, hip fads above. There’s got to be at least one which caught your fancy. In the end, you are among the many trend-setters, aren’t you? Yep, I thought so.

The largest as well as the most populous continents in the world – Asia is a land of diversity with a multitude of geographies, cultures, and people. Occupying an area of about 9% of the total area of the earth’s surface, Asia is home to more than five billion people.
In other words, Asia consists of more than 60% of the world’s overall population. As a tourist destination, Asia boasts of a feast of attractions in the form of traditional cities, ancient monuments with superb architecture, museums and art galleries that throw light on the history of the place, incredible wild life, scenic mind blowing attractions, and attractions that are a blend of both east and west.
There are also a range of vibrant attractions, covering action packed beaches, bargain shopping areas, and exuberant nightclubs. Equally remarkable is the sumptuous cuisines available here, each of which is a representation of different cultures. In fact, the world’s majority of tourist attractions are found in Asia. Discussed further in this article are some of the most popular tourist attractions in Asia.
The continent of Asia is home to such incredible destinations as India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Philippines. Asia has such a great number of attractions that even a year is not enough to explore them all. For those who want to explore a range of rich culture and topography and at the same time interested in recreational pursuits, then one of the most suitable options would be to take a tour to India. Stunning beaches, gorgeous monuments, ancient temples, and lively cities, all sum up the attractions of India. Attractions, among many others, in India are Red Fort and Qutab Minar in Delhi, Taj Mahal, one of the world’s seven wonders, Khajuraho Temples in Madhya Pradesh, Elephanta Caves in Mumbai, Ajanta and Ellora Caves in Aurangabad, and Kerala’s backwaters.
For those interested in exploring the pristine beauty as well as the ancient wonders, perhaps the greatest of all attractions in Asia would be China, which boasts of such lively destinations as Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, all of with loads of mind blowing attractions. Most popular among the attractions in China are the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors, Potala Palace, West Lake, and Mogao Grottos. Another much sought after tourist destination in Asia is Japan, which is acknowledged as the Land of the Rising Sun. It features attractions such as Nara Park, Kyoto’s Higashiyama area, Kin Osaki, Himeji Castle, and Takayama in Gifu. With attractions such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is also an incredible spot in Asia.
Popular countries in Asia also include the Kingdom of Thailand, which is probably the number one tourist destination in South-East Asia. What that set apart Thailand from other spots in Asia is its breathtaking natural beauty, stunning temples, gorgeous island destinations, stupendous monuments, healthy cuisines, and above all presence of amicable Thai people.
Just few among many of the attractions in Thailand are Bangkok, the capital city; Ayutthaya, which is much famed for its Gothic ruins; Chiang-Mai, bestowed with the title ‘Rose of the North,’ Krabi, which is a paradise for enjoying a range of water sport activities; and Pattaya, one of the best resorts in Asia. Also, a tourist spot in South-East Asia is Singapore, which is an island destination situated at the Malay Peninsula’s southern tip. Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore Discovery Center, Little India, and China Town, are some of the Singapore’s landmarks.
Southeast Asia also contains incredible destinations such as Indonesia – the largest archipelagic nation in the world; Malaysia, with attractions like Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Philippines, with more than 7000 islands; and Burma, which is the largest country in Southeast Asia. Other top places of interest in Asia are Sri Lanka – an island destination located off the southern tip of India; Afghanistan, with a rich as well as complex history; Maldives, which consists of more than 1,000 coral islands in the Indian Ocean; Uzbekistan, one of the most popular destinations in Central Asia; Kyrgyzstan, which is probably the most popular tourist spot in Central Asia; and Bangladesh, which has to its credit a number of ancient palaces, magnificent Buddhist shrines, and beautiful monuments.
In short, Asia is truly a dream destination for every traveler.
Indonesia Tourism Prospect

Indonesian Senior Statesman Makes a Critical Appraisal the Development of National Tourism.
(1/25/2010) Anak Agung Gde Agung is one of Indonesia’s most distinguished and well-informed senior statesmen. He is a graduate of Harvard and Leiden universities. He as attended the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the United States and served as social services minister during the administration of President Abdurrahman Wahid.
The following article is reprinted from The Jakarta Post.
Indonesian Tourism – a National Tragedy Government officials at all levels claim that Indonesia’s tourism is doing well, with each year seeing robust advancements. On the contrary, however, all the data indicate how dismally Indonesia’s tourism has done this past decade.
In the last 12 years to 2007, tourist numbers fluctuated between 4 million and 5 million visitors. The average length of stay has declined, from 10 days in 1997 to barely 8. 5 days in 2008. Worst yet is how Indonesia compares with neighboring Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, which last year attracted 10 million, 15 million and 22 million visitors respectively.
How can such a huge discrepancy occur? How is it that Indonesia, brimming with such wealth in culture and natural beauty, attracts only a quarter of the tourists that basically barren Malaysia does?
This tragedy seems to have its source in the early 1980s, when Indonesia, strapped for funds, pointed to already world-famous Bali as its tourist cash cow. Since then, little has changed. As a result, Indonesia’s tourist attraction has been practically limited to Bali, with devastating consequences. Tourists overflow in quantum leaps to Bali, creating an explosion of infrastructure requirements that visibly erode the natural environment.
The over-concentration of tourists in Bali has not only brought an unmanageable overflow of visitors to the island – often the wrong types who cannot appreciate the unique local culture and natural environment – but has also led to an utter neglect of the other many equally attractive tourist spots throughout the archipelago.
Fabulous sites such as Borobudur, Yogyakarta, Toraja, Bunaken and Ujung Kulon, for instance, have been practically left unheeded. Such complacency has a high price, as can been seen from the destructive erosion that the overcrowding of tourists has brought to Bali’s culture and environment, and how it has stagnated Indonesia’s other richly diverse tourist destinations.
How bad have these other destinations stagnated? Here are a few horrifying statistics:
Borobudur, that World Cultural Heritage icon, was only able to muster about 85,000 foreign tourists last year, compared to more than 1 million by the more recently discovered Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
Toraja these last few years has only attracted an average of about 5,000 overseas tourists a year.
Bunaken averaged only about 10,000 foreign visitors a year for as long as one can remember, versus more than 4 million for the similar Pattaya in Thailand.
Ujung Kulon, with its rare one-horned rhino, can only claim an average of 6,000 combined domestic and foreign tourists a year.
A fast recovery is imperative here and the condition for this is a complete change in mind-set. The first order of the day is for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to declare tourism a national priority and for central and regional authorities as well as the government and the private sector to work hand in hand in this effort. This needs to be followed by a preliminary phase of quick-win activities rejuvenating tourist destinations that have so far languished but need only small improvements to boost them back.
Borobudur, for instance, can be brought back to full splendor by relocating the street vendors who have been encroaching on the temple grounds and harassed visitors from fully enjoying this beautiful temple/monastery. Toraja can also attract far more tourists by repairing its forsaken airfield so that visitors can arrive there within 45 minutes from Makassar and avoid the perilous 10-hour journey through steep mountains.
As for Ujung Kulon, tourist numbers can easily rise to more than a million there within a very short time if regular and safe sea transportation is made available from Jakarta. There are other fabulous places besides those mentioned above currently suffering from lack of attention, such as Mount Bromo, Yogyakarta and Komodo Island, which only need small touches to turn them quickly into major tourist destinations while easing the pressure on overcrowded Bali.
The quick-win phase should be followed by a longer-term buildup of other tourist sites nationwide, which will require more infrastructure investment to put them on the travel map. These sites are currently still relatively unfamiliar places, but have the potential to offer inherently unique attractions and help sustain the long-term development of Indonesia’s tourist industry.
Such places include Trowulan and Kota Gede for historical interests, Banda Naira and Raja Ampat for spectacular surfing, and the Baliem Valley and Waikabubak for unparalleled ethnic experiences. There are many other such tourist sites and they can be offered in clusters of similar attractions to make the trip for tourists richer and more diverse.
Both during the quick-win and long-term phases, the tourism recovery effort has to be supported by appropriately directed promotional campaigns with a common national branding. Malaysia has its “Truly Asia”, India its “Incredible” claim while Singapore and Thailand have respectively dubbed themselves “Uniquely Singapore” and “Amazing Thailand”. Branding is important to position the country concerned at the top of mind of would-be tourists while also filtering the right tourists who can appreciate what that country offers.
Increased arrivals of tourists, who show their appreciation of the local specialties, will make the local people proud of their heritage and motivate them to strengthen it further, which in turn will bring even more like-minded tourists. This will result in an upward spiral of tourists and local people hand in hand strengthening the traditional inheritance of the land.
A successful tourism program can have many priceless benefits for Indonesia, including making it the most diverse tourist destination in the world, providing it with a sustainable and environmentally clean source of revenue larger than any of its current ones, and bringing overall prosperity to the people throughout the archipelago (and not just Bali) through grassroots empowerment and self-sustenance.
