Presenting the chance to learn about Thai architecture and history, this innovative outdoor museum requires a vehicle to traverse its entire 280 acre area. Located inside are replicas of numerous historical and religious buildings that should not be missed when traveling to Bangkok. This enormous park provides the perfect opportunity to spend an interesting day when in Thailand. It is due to its impressive size that the park has been billed as being the largest outdoor park in the world. With an innovative design in its construction, the entire outdoor area is designed to duplicate the actual layout of Thailand and all the structures that are located inside mimic their actually relative position in Thailand. The replicas that are housed here are all extremely accurate being virtually identical to the structures that they impersonate. This was made possible with the help of the National Museum. However even more special about the museum are the structures that are replicated here that no longer exist in Thailand itself such as the Royal Hall of Ayutthaya that was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. In addition to grand and Royal structures the common man and normal houses are not skipped over at Ancient City. Visitors can see various styles of Thai houses that were used during different time periods providing a unique insight in to the life of Thai people through the ages. Several small food shops are scattered throughout the park premises that offer a simple array of food, but for those who desire a full dining experience there is a restaurant that is housed in a recreation of Thai floating village. There is also a small village recreation that provides various souvenir style items for purchase that are created by local craftsmen. With its extremely spacious environment it is hard to find a day when the city is crowded or packed but the downside of this is that traversing the entire area is difficult without some mode of transport. Fortunately the admission fee also includes a free bicycle rental but visitors can also rent a car or other automobile to traverse this grand park. Staying in a Bangkok hotel that is located close to this destination such as Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok provides guests with a range of amenities and facilities in addition to a convenient location that provides easy access to this must see destination.

Thailand is a fascinating place to visit but the weather and temperatures mean that timing your visit is imperative. Monsoons arrive around July time and carry on into November, this results in sticky and quite uncomfortable temperatures and may not suit the average holiday-maker. From March to June, Thailand has very high temperatures and again, may not be what some people are looking for. The best time to visit Thailand is between November and mid-February where temperatures are comfortable and beaches are at their best.

There are some great hotels in Thailand available and you should have no problem finding one to suit you as there are a great selection with varying prices and quality depending on what you are looking for. As well as the temperature being bearable, there are also plenty of national and regional festivals going on from November to February.

The “Kathin” and “Loi Krathong” festivals are very popular in the country and both take place in November and the “Surin Annual Elephant Roundup” which is very popular amongst tourists. Other festivals that are worth a visit are the Bangkok Film Festival held in January and Chinese New Year which is always awash with vibrant colours and is a great way to experience the culture.

Getting around is fairly simple, tourists are advised to use the Baw Khaw Saw (BKS) public bus terminals to minimise the chances of having anything stolen as private hire mini-vans and buses have a high theft rate. There are plenty of hotels around and most are positioned in central locations which allow you to make the most of your time in Thailand.

For the best deals on hotels in Thailand , shop online and compare the best deals from the leading companies and find the ideal hotel for you.

When you plan your holiday to Thailand, you will want to experience some of the culture. The first place you stop at should be the Chiang Mai Culture Centre. You can see a traditional tribal and folk show, and intriguing displays about the northern culture. The National Museum also exhibits all the culture of Thailand. The rooftop is fascinating as well. You will learn about the culture and the history of the area. The Tribal Museum is down the road and has many beautiful exhibits. The exhibits of the hill tribes are amazing to see. You will learn many interesting things about Thailand by visiting these two attractions.
While deciding about the other things to do when planning your holidays to Thailand, you should include a trip to the zoo. You will see the Pandas as well as African and Asian animals. Then there is the Art Museum. The exhibits are fascinating to see and read about while learning about the type of artworks that are custom in Thailand. After a few indoor activities, you might enjoy a day outdoors at the National Park. You will see birds, plants and some smaller creatures. The waterfalls are beautiful and the hiking trails are enjoyable and easy to walk.
Another place to plan to see is the waterfalls called Namtok Huai Kaew located by the zoo. Then you can take a trip to the Doi Pui Tribal Village. The village is a true Hmong village that has all the older traditions and a beautiful view of Doi Inthanon. The Royal Winter Palace is another spectacular place to see. It is a palace on the mountain with a beautiful garden adorning the grounds. If you visit from December to February, you will not be allowed inside because the Royal family will be there.
Holidays to Thailand are about culture and what better way to experience the culture than with a Khantoke Dinner. The dinner consists of many different dishes, which are a northern tradition. They have culture dances and other shows during the meals, which are courtesy of the hillside tribes. It is a real treat to visit Thailand and see how they live and celebrate different holidays. The Hmong New Year is a spectacular tradition and if you can travel during that time, you will see beautiful costumes and enjoy a cultural experience like you never have before.
If your holidays to Thailand are going to include some shopping, you will want to visit Night Bazaar. You will find souvenirs and handmade items. The Night Bazaar does not open until six at night. You can find just about anything you want. The fabrics are fascinating and reasonable priced. You can enjoy a great vacation to Thailand and see how everyone lives and how the tribes live. The culture is amazing to see and learning more about the culture is exciting. You will enjoy a week or longer in Thailand experiencing the customs.

Thailand food It is beyond any doubt that food is a part of any gathering, thus, becoming the part of social occasions or itself the reason to celebrate. Normally, as per the western culture, a normal meal in any restaurant consists of starter, main course and then dessert. But in Thailand, the custom is bit different with regard to Thailand food, as there is no single dish for a single person. As a general, all present in a gathering share the same dish together. So, it’s better to have many guests together around the table than to enjoy with one or two as eating alone is considered a bad luck in the country. One of the good things about Thai food is that they never dispose away the leftover food, as they consider it inauspicious and an enraging act to a female deity, ‘God of rice’. Generally there are four seasonings in Thailand food- sweet, sour, salty and spicy. The food is satisfied only if it contains all the four tastes. Thai dinner mostly include meat, fish, noodles, vegetables and soup followed by desserts including fresh fruits and colorful rice cakes. Besides meals, there are snackers consisting of chicken or beef satay, spring rolls, salads, raw vegetable with spicy dips and sweets. Thailand culture Thailand culture is highly influenced by Buddhism in addition to some influence of Hinduism and other Southeast Asian neighbor. Thai art is the main item included in Thai Culture. Buddha image is the main constituent in different period having distinctive styles. At present, there is a fusion of traditional art with modern techniques. India has also laid much influence on Thailand literature. It includes the most notable work, Ramakien, the version of Indian epic, Ramayana. The poetry of Sunthorn Phu is also quite famous in Thailand. Spoken drama is not given any importance in Thailand, but instead there is Thai dance, divided into three categories- Lakhon, Likay and Khon. A form of shadow pay, Nang Drama, is popular among southern Thailand. Folk music and classical music both are have their significance in addition to pop music. Apart from it, one of the common customs included in Thailand is Wai, a common gesture that is similar to Indian Namaste. The hospitable and generous people of Thailand pay a lot of respect and homage to their elders, as it is the core of their faith and spiritual belief. Seeking blessings from the elders is considered important mark of respect.

The country is bordered to the north by Laos and Burma, to the east by Laos and Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea and Burma. By the maritime boundary, the country is bordered to the southeast by Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand, to the southwest by Indonesia and India in the Andaman Sea.

The capital and largest city of Thailand is Bangkok. It is also the country’s centre of political, commercial, industrial and cultural activities. Bangkok is known in Thai as “Krung Thep Mahanakorn,” or, more colloquially, “Krung Thep.”

Thailand is considered to be the world’s 50th largest country in terms of total area, with a surface area of approximately 513,000 km² (198,000 sq mi), and the world’s 20th largest country in terms of population with approximately 63 million people. The population consists 80% of Thais, 10% of Chinese, and 3% of Malay. The rest are minorities such as Mons, Khmers, and various hill tribes. The country’s official spoken and written language is Thai.

The Kingdom of Thailand is an independent country which lies in the heart of Southeast Asia.
