I have heard that if you find places online they are generally run by Europeans and therefore you pay a lot more, then you turn up and find out the place next door or just a little further down the beach is 1/10th of the price but wasn't listed online ...

I live in Malaysia and would like to go for a holiday (preferably not to places similar to Malaysia like Indonesia, Thailand, etc). What's a good place to go where the scenery is beautiful, the food is delicious and suitable to go with good friends? And more IMPORTANTLY, not expensive!
