Are there nice places just outside of Pattaya Thailand to can stay with budget accomodaton?
December 17th, 2009 | by admin |Im travlling as a backpacker and need to economise.May stay for a month around here
Lets see, you want a nice place at cheap prices – what is a cheap price to you per night for a hotel or per month for an apartment? What time of year will you be in Pattaya? If you will be there during the Christmas – New Years holiday periods prices for hotels are even higher.
When you say "just outside of Pattaya" what does that mean? Do you mean anywhere in Chonburi?
If you are looking for budget accommodation then just stay in Pattaya proper. If we know what price you want to pay for a hotel we can match a place to that budget a little easier.
There are hotels in Pattaya where you can get a private room for around 250 baht per night. These rooms will be fan rooms, with or without hot water. Paying a little more you can get air conditioning and a slightly less boring room.
Here is a link to a hotel chain that has some rooms at budget prices.

Spend a few nights in Pattaya in a hotel and check out some other places to stay at. Stay in the area not far from Pattaya 2nd Road (Pattaya Sai Song) and Soi Buakhaw and you will be able to use cheap 10 baht transportation (songthaew) and walk to many places easily.

There are places way out past Sukhumvit Road (Pattaya) that might be cheaper but you will be far away from lots of stuff and probably have to pay a higher price for transportation.
Good luck.

That depends on your interest.
I have lived in all over Thailand and South East Asia and speak Thai for about three years and am now back in the states.
Tell me of your interests and I can answer your question better.
As for Pattaya, It is more expensive there because of the franges ( foreign travelers ) that visit on holiday. I am curious why you choose Pattaya?

Depends what you want and how much – there are places to suit all budgets, both in and around Pattaya. You could try Jomtien if you want to be slightly outside Pattaya – it’s nice there and a bit quieter.

loads of cheap joints to stay in pattaya!!! from 400 baht a night that’s about 18 bucks australian, eat from the street vendors there safe and cheap and tasty or the noodle/soup stalls very cheap about $1.50 a serve for beef noodle soup, travel buy bus or train and if you do want to drink try the Thai whiskey or local beer. I find you can spend lots or little in Thailand it depends on your own budget. if you stay out of pattaya a little bit the accomadation is cheaper
Enjoy tommy!!!

The nicest BY FAR is a little place in Naklua called East Sea, 1100Baht gets you a nice ground floor bungalow amongst a beutiful lust rainforest style gardens, just a short stroll to a nice little 24 hr bar and a beautiful pool. 5 minutes from the heart of Pattaya by motor cycle. Its the Only place in Pattaya I would either stay in or reccomend.

Get a bit away from the beach, even on the east side of Sukhumvit and you can find cheap places to stay. Also around soi 2-3-4 in the area of Jomtien just off Beach Road. Some of those are pretty 3rd world, but for 100-200 baht, what can you expect. The further you get away from the beach, the cheaper, and if you get a "Thai room", they aren’t all too bad, then take a song taew to the beach or wherever you are going. Not knowing your exact budget it is difficult to advise. If you can afford around 500 baht, wow, you can really have a quite decent place, paying by the month, even a nice condo, with kitchen, private bath, etc. (I know, I own a rental right at the best beach and only get 12,000 baht a month long term, but low season is on its way!).
