Ho much money will i need to take for a 2 week trip to Thailand? we dont have hotels or internal flights?

February 4th, 2010 | by admin |

I don’t imagine we wil be doing much shopping but we want to travel round as much as possible
There are two of us travelling but we have not booked any internal flights or any hotels/hostels. I doun’t think that we will be doig much shopping but would like to do day trips etc. We were thinking maybe £1000 (or just under) each – what do you think? too much/too little? thanks

US $ 100 per day is good enough for even two persons as far as hotel and food is concerned.
If you travel on bus and dont stay in luxury hotels you guys will need at the most US $ 200 all inclusive per day.
Bangkok has good accomodation on Sukhumvit road for US $ 40 upwards near the Nana and Asok skytrain (BTS) stations.
If you spend atleast 1 week they will give you extra 20% discounts too.
So what you have is more than enough.
Enjoy ur trip to Thailand.

GBP 1000 each is a good enough budget to travel within Thailand. Budget hotels are plentiful in Thailand and you can always travel on their long-distance buses which are fairly comfortable. Food is rather inexpensive.

Airfares are cheap thanks to budget carriers like AirAsia.com and NokAir.com. One way flights to Chiang Mai and Phuket from Bangkok are around 2000 Baht including all taxes, which are usually more expensive than the flights themselves. There are also many special offers.

Seeing the sights in much of Thailand is relatively inexpensive. Even a visit to the Grand Palace in Bangkok or Wat Po only costs a couple hundred baht admission. Excursions are more costly, and most day trips are around 1500 – 2000 Baht. e.g. seeing the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Tiger Temple, a day trip to the temples of Ayutthaya, kayaking in Krabi, elephant trekking in Khao Sok etc. You don’t need to plan doing many of these things very far in advance – booking a day or so ahead is usually fine. But you’ll need to have some money set aside in your budget all the same.

Accommodation will be around 1000 baht a day (£15) if you want a proper hotel with a swimming pool and air conditioning. It depends on what you consider acceptable.
you can also try this site. click on hotel’s name and it will show you all hotel’s info, including room rate, photo, and previous customer’s reviews. Have a nice trip!!!
