Best Bangkok Budget Guest Friendly Hotels on Sukhumvit Road
August 29th, 2010 | by admin | If you are coming to Bangkok for its nightlife then it is best to stay in a hotel on Sukhumvit Road. Best thing of all is that there are many budget hotels offering excellent quality rooms and there’s even a swimming pool for you to dip in during an often hot Bangkok afternoon.
Sukhumvit Road starts right in the heart of central Bangkok and this major avenue runs through 2 red light districts called Nana and Soi Cowboy. Both are just a 15 minute stroll from each other and just one train stop away by using the Sky Train – which conveniently runs right above Sukhumvit Road. Overall the neighborhood is considered expensive since there are many high end department stores with expats and well to do local Thais living in the area.
But that doesn’t mean you won’t find any budget hotels, especially ones that are guest friendly. For those indulging in Bangkok’s adult entertainment ‘guest friendly hotel’ means that the hotel will not charge you for inviting an unregistered guest back to your room. Most only will allow you to invite 1, so don’t get ahead of yourself. There are a few hotels that will allow you to bring 2, 3 or more ladies. . . but I’ll save that information for a future article.
One of the most popular guest friendly hotel in Bangkok is the Majestic Suites – which is located right on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 4, which is basically the epicenter of Nana’s red light district. Staying at the Majestic Suites will literally put you in grabbing distance of go go bars and freelance hot spots. It only cost 1280 Baht for a night there in a standard room and it includes a free breakfast.
Another excellent budget hotel is the recently renovated Swiss Park Hotel that is in Nana red light district. Plus there are many beer bars and cheap watering holes with local ladies to meet and chat with near the hotel. Even though the hotel has gone through a makeover it is good to see that they haven’t raised their prices. A standard room there still cost 1200 Baht and also includes breakfast.
There are more budget guest friendly hotels along Sukhumvit Road but it is primarily a great place to stay in because that’s where all the action is found.
