Advice on Travel to Thailand in Early March?

I am trying to plan a vacation in early March and would like to do the following things:

swim in clean water at a beautiful beach, eat good cheap food, take a cooking class or two, do a little shopping and a little sightseeing.

Here is my most important question: which beach is clean, safe, beautiful and good to be at in March?

I’ve been to BKK once and loved it; wouldn’t mind spending a day or two there.

Experienced travelers, tell me which beach you’d go to in March and how you’d get there from BKK. I will have 8 full days available to me (not including my travel to/from the states days).

Also, if you have any hotel, restaurant or cooking school recommendations, I would appreciate any input you have. I’ve already collected a few recommendations from Trip Advisor, but it always helps to have tips corroborated from other sources.

My hotel budget is fixed at no more than 150.00 on a very, very nice place for one or two nights, and less than 80.00 for everywhere else. I think this is possible for something clean and safe.

I am a woman, hoping my other half will decide to come with me. If not, I’ll be traveling alone.

Where to go in Thailand and cost..?

my mate and I are going to Thailand next year June/July times for 3 weeks. We are just going to buy our flight tickets and then when we get there we want to go and stay in 4 different hotels for 5 nights each as this way we can see different places/areas. Where would you reccomend going? bearing in mind we will both be 21 and love clubbing aswell as nice beaches. We want to stay in nice places and do a few excursions and where we will be changing hotels, maybe travel fare.

Where would you recoomend and how much would you suggest taking for 3 weeks? p.s we dont eat loads just 3 meals a day and nothing fancy.

Am I stupid to go leave the USA to stay in Thailand?

I was born and raised in a small town in the southern Thailand. Luckily, I have a chance to study in the USA. I came here since I was 17. I am now 23 with Master’s Degree. I am thinking of returning home because all my family are in Thailand.

In the US. I just go to school and work. I have no family or friends. I am just focusing on my accomplishments such as higher education, powerful job, and high salary. No fun!

In Thailand, I cannot afford to buy expensive stuffs. I may have to live in a house without Air Conditioner. I hate the house Lizards. I don’t like to get wet in the rainny season. However, I miss my family. I want to see their smiles and travel to waterfalls, small beaches, festivals, and markets with them like when I was young. I want to take care of my grand parents and parents. My aunts and uncles don’t like me,but it is okay. I have many good loving friends in Thailand.

What do you think? Any thoughts and advice? Thank You

Advice for summer trip – Mallorca-Valencia-Madrid/Thailand/Istanbul?

ok, so here goes – I wanna workout a nice summer vacation traveling trip, i am 22 years old, and want the trip to be at least 1 month.. i am trying to decide where to go, and figure out how much it would cost me, and how much fun it would be..

mainly i want the trip to include – beaches, parties, sunshine, scenic nature(but not too hardcore traveling) some culture if possible(art, music, architecture..)

i have thought of a few options –

1) making a trip to Palma de Mallorca, then going to Valencia, and from there maybe Madrid, or Malaga, basically having a good time in spain.. it would be excellent for me because i started learning spanish, and this way i would be able to practice it..

2) Thailand – well i’ve never been to the east, and thailand sounds really cool, allot of fun and young people, plus the advantage that it’s much cheaper than europe…

3) Istanbul – i’ve been kinda on the istanbul signal since i saw the movie Crossing the Bridge, about the different music in istanbul, and i think as a musician i would have allot of fun there..

so basically i would really appreciate any advice about this trip, about the places, the cost, and maybe recommendations for other places to go to…

i should note that i am from Israel, 22yo, a musician and an art student..

Which is worse police corruption in Thailand or the Philippines?

During my last vacation to the Philippines I was robbed of $300 by police in Makati. Until that time I had thought that Makati was the safest place in the Philippines but now I don’t think anywhere in the Philippines is safe. I will never go to the Philippines again after what happened to me there and I am wondering if police in Thailand are as bad as police in the Philippines? Has anyone here had any bad experiences in Thailand? I am contemplating leaving asia behind and just going to Europe instead but I would hate to leave the nice warm beaches of asia behind.

i’m travelling to thailand in july…is this advisable what with all of the riots going on at the moment?

Going to thailand………..?

Well I am going to thailand along with my family and my aunt’s family. So it’s a family trip. We are going to stay in pattaya for two days and bangkok for two days. We will be staying in hotel century in pattaya and hotel ambassador in bangkok. So, I was wondering what we can visit or see in pattaya and bangkok ( you know must see things). Can you give me list of them and tell how to visit those places. And also good shopping places where we can shop more good quality things with less moneyand how to bargain and how to go there. Oh, one thing more which places and beaches shall we go or avoid ( you see it’s a family trip. Please write in detail in a orderly manner and don’t ask me to go to this website and that. Thanks.

thailand travel plans, are these the hotspots ?

cheapest flight is to bangkok, but i only want spend 2 days there and hit the islands… is pattaya worth going to ? i seen on travel channel that patong beach in phuket is highly rated, so anybody been ? then my buddy been to ko samui & ko phi phi said was good. how many days do i need in each place ? what is my best transportation for price to get from bangkok to phuket beach, then to ko samui, to pattaya? does this sound like best route bangkok –> phuket –> ko samui –> pattaya –> back to bangkok ?
